Cadillac has expanded its high-performance V line-up to include the new 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V, a high-performance SUV with the Tesla Model Y Performance fixed firmly in its sights.
On sale in the US later this year, the Cadillac OPTIQ-V has been built to overshadow the Tesla Model Y Performance and more premium hot all-electric mid-sizers, like the Porsche Macan Turbo and Audi SQ6 e-tron.
Adopting a dual-motor powertrain, the headline news is the hot OPTIQ-V pumps out an impressive 387kW and 880Nm, helping it overcome its hefty 2470kg mass and sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds with the aid of launch control.
Powering the OPTIQ-V is an 85-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that provides a range of up to 443km on a US test cycle.
When it comes to charging, a fast DC charge can add 113km of range in 10 minutes. A 7.7kW AC top-up adds 29km per hour while a more powerful 11.5kW AC charge provides around 50km per hour.
Helping to broadcast its performance credentials, the OPTIQ-V gets Royal Blue brake calipers, a V-pattern lower grille, a high-gloss-black front splitter and rear diffuser, plus a pair of rear C-pillars with chequered flag graphics.
The OPTIQ-V is also offered with the further option of a carbon-fibre pack that adds a splitter, rear diffuser and tailgate spoiler all made from the lightweight composite.
V-Series badging is present on the rear doors, tailgate and front fenders.
Giving it the dynamic edge over its rivals, the OPTIQ-V gets adaptive dampers and large Brembo brakes, with 390mm discs up front and 315mm discs at the rear.
The fast Caddy also rides on large 21-inch alloy wheels that feature a satin graphite finish and laser-etched V motifs.
Available in eight colours, within the hot OPTIQ-V largely carries over the standard car’s cabin that features a huge 33-inch full-width display that runs Google software.
V-Series touches include a new sport steering wheel, carbon-fibre trim and extra V-Series badging.
Blue accents and patterned fabrics made from recycled yarn are present, while designers have created two interior themes, including one that blends bright Santorini Blue seatbacks with blue seatbelts.
From launch, all OPTIQ-Vs come with a panoramic fixed glass roof and a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system with Dolby Atmos.
Driver-assist tech includes GM’s Super Cruise that bundles in an adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist and auto parking, among others.
On sale in US in the last quarter of this year, the 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V has been priced from $US68,795 ($A105,000).
