Toyota has launched a special limited-edition eight-seat LandCruiser Prado model. Dubbed the Prado Pilbara, according to Toyota, the SUV boasts $6300 worth of extra equipment for an additional $3820 on the recommended retail price.
Toyota will only build 500 examples of the limited-edition Prado Pilbara – for sale in November and December (or until stocks last).
Four Pilbara LE models variants will be offered each based on the Prado GX.
Purchasers can choose from 4.0-litre V6 petrol or 3.0-litre turbodiesel powerplants. The petrol version comes with the choice of six-speed manual or five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, while the td model offers five-speed manual or four-speed auto.
Recommended retail prices for LandCruiser Prado Pilbara LE start from $47,990 for both the petrol and turbodiesel manual models.
All Prado Pilbara models standard with airconditioning, cruise control, and ABS. Additional exterior items, over the GX include 17-inch alloy wheels with 265/65R17 tyres, side protection moulding, mudguards with overfender flares, side steps, front foglamps and driving lamps built into the bumper, body-coloured exterior door handles and body-coloured wide bumpers.
Prado Pilbara also has roof rails, Pilbara decal, chrome exterior mirrors and a chrome radiator grille.
Prado Pilbara buyers have the choice of metallic paint at no addition to the recommended retail price.
Inside, Prado Pilbara LE has the additional features over the GX -- leather steering wheel and gear knob, chrome door handles and Prado accessory floor mats.
