Haval has announced price cuts of up to $4500 for the upgraded H9 SUV it will launch this week.
The large Chinese seven-seat off-roader is now priced from just $40,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level 2.0-litre Premium, or $41,990 drive-away -- $4500 less than before
The top-spec H9 Luxury, meantime, is priced at $44,990 plus ORCs, or $45,990 drive-away -- $4000 less than before.
Those prices are also significantly less than key rivals including the Holden Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner.
"We've worked very hard to deliver a seven-seat SUV that delivers for Australian families at the best possible price," said Haval Motors Australia chief marketing officer Tim Smith.
"At $40,990 for the entry-level model and $44,990 for the high spec, we're very confident we have made a compelling argument for Australian families to sample the new Haval H9.
"To sweeten the deal, we will launch with drive-away pricing of just $41,990 and $45,990."
The new Haval H9 begins arriving in dealerships next week. Stand by for full details and out first drive later this week.
2018 Haval H9 pricing (drive-away):
