Prices up for smarter 2023 Hyundai Venue

Korean brand’s smallest SUV bolstered by equipment upgrades including connected services for the first time

Hyundai Australia has announced a raft of upgrades for its smallest and cheapest SUV, bringing a host of new standard equipment and technology – including the brand’s Bluelink connected services for the first time – to the 2023 Hyundai Venue.

Prices for the updated MY23 Hyundai Venue, which is available now, have risen by between $140 and $960 across the three-tier range, which continues to open with the entry-level Venue six-speed manual, now priced at $21,900 before on-road costs.

In line with increasing prices across the auto industry in recent years, that’s up almost $2000 on the Venue’s initial launch price point of $19,990 plus ORCs in September 2019, following $500 range-wide price hike in December 2020.

The option of a six-speed automatic for the base Venue still adds $2000 to the bill, while the mid-spec Venue Active is now priced from $23,690 (manual) or $26,000 (automatic), while the range-topping Venue Elite, which is auto-only, is now $960 pricier at $28,500 (plus ORCs).

For the extra money, all 2023-plated variants now gain wireless phone charging, however, only the range-topping Venue Elite gets access to the South Korean car-maker’s latest Bluelink connected car services suite, which allows owners to control their vehicle and access information such as fuel level and low tyre pressure warning via a smartphone.

Bluelink also brings features such as Automatic Collision Notification (to alert emergency services if you’ve crashed), natural voice recognition, weather information, valet mode, a ‘find my car’ service and vehicle health reports, among other things.

Every variant in the 2023 Hyundai Venue range will come with a rear occupant alert (ROA) warning, a new 4.2-inch digital driver’s instrument cluster, a revised steering wheel control layout including a new ‘Custom’ button, and a new pole-type antenna to replace the previous model’s shark fin aerial.

Other additions to the Venue Elite, include a pair of USB-C ports for rear-seat passengers as well as a small storage compartment, while one USB-C port has also been added up front.

Every Venue continues to be powered by a carryover 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 90kW of power and 151Nm of torque.

The only options across the board are metallic paint, adding $595 to the invoice.
