Pricing announced for commemorative Jaguar XJ50

Jaguar Australia is now taking orders for its limited-edition XJ50 models, marking the occasion of 50 years since the introduction of the original XJ6.

The anniversary models are priced from $222,748 for the supercharged petrol V6 models in either short or long-wheelbase form. Turbo-diesel variants are also available at a price of $223,090 and like the petrol models that price applies to both wheelbases. Jaguar Land Rover Australia advises that local deliveries will commence around the end of the first quarter next year at the earliest.

Based on the XJ Premium Luxury model, the Jaguar XJ50 comes as standard with the following features: anodised shift paddles, quilted soft-grain diamond-sew leather seats, embossed ('Leaper') head rests, embossed centre armrest, bright-finish metal pedals and 'gloss-shadow' walnut veneer.

The Jaguar XJ50 can be identified by specific badging at the rear and along the sides, 20-inch alloy wheels in 'Style 5045' design (five pairs of spokes), XJ50 illuminated scuff plates and 'Autobiography'-style bumpers and black mesh grille insert.

"Spanning half a century, the Jaguar XJ remains true to its heritage with a wonderful balance of beautiful design, intelligent performance and indulgent luxury that ensures it stands out from the crowd," Jaguar Director of Design Ian Callum was quoted as saying in a press release.

"This is a car worth celebrating and the XJ50 pays homage to a giant within the Jaguar brand that we believe is one of the world's most stylish sporting saloons."

Also confirmed for Australia is the MY19 update for the mainstream Jaguar XJ range, which carries over the exterior colour selection but gains In-Control Touch Pro as standard, along with a 10-inch touch screen, 18-way adjustable front seats with heating and cooling, four-zone climate control, auto high-beam assist and adaptive LED headlights.
