The production-spec 2026 Genesis GV60 Magma has been debuted in full ahead of its local introduction in the first half next year. As expected, it’s a more compact, upmarket and very orange version of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N.

Looking almost identical to the well-travelled concept vehicle that took to both Mt Panorama and the Goodwood hill climb, the production GV60 Magma sits 20mm lower than the existing Performance all-wheel drive (AWD) and packs an even bigger punch.
Where the lesser variant is good for 360kW/700Nm, the Magma outputs 478kW/790Nm in ‘boost mode’ – 20Nm more than its IONIQ 5 N sibling.
The extra grunt makes next to no impact on outright performance, but it should be noted the GV60 sits on a 100mm shorter wheelbase than the N – meaning it should be more nimble – and will hit a marginally higher top speed of 264km/h (vs 260km/h).

Under the orange skin, it features all the same N-developed hardware – including an 84kWh battery pack, enhanced motors, optimised suspension geometry, virtual gear shift, active sound design, bespoke tyres, huge brakes, customisable drive modes, track-focused battery conditioning, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential just to name a few.
Being a Genesis, the GV60 Magma is expected to deliver greater refinement and insulation from road and wind noise compared to the IONIQ 5 N.
The cabin is also bougier with quilted, heated and cooled Magma bucket seats, orange and grey stitching, orange seatbelts, premium leather and suede trim. Plus, all the usual GV60 goodies like the crystal sphere shifter, premium graphics, luxury steering wheel, and more elegant infotainment system.

Genesis is yet to announce an official cruising range or a complete equipment list for its first Magma product, let alone Australian pricing, but it shouldn’t be too long before such details are confirmed.
It will also be interesting to see if the Magma products are covered under warranty for track usage as per the Hyundai N portfolio.
