Pup-friendly cafes worth the drive
Because we love puppies and puppies love Puppuccinos.There are few things in life better than coffee, cars and dogs. Combine all three ingredients and you’ve got the perfect weekend recipe in our books. And although our canine companions might not be welcome to join us for a cheeky Pinot Noir at Luigi’s or a schnitty at the local, there are plenty of pup-friendly cafes to try on your next lazy Sunday… or Wednesday - who are we to judge? Here's a list of pup-friendly cafes worth the drive for you and your furry friends.
Cafe Bones, Leichhardt NSW
Located in Leichhardt, 15 minutes from Sydney CBD, Cafe Bones is a cafe within a dog park. Heck yes - best of both worlds. Pugsy can run wild with his new friends while you sip your skim capp and devour a cronut. And, once playtime is over, he can have his well-deserved gourmet doggy biscuit and puppuccino. “Bone-appetit,” he’ll bark.
FurBaby Boutique, Westminster WA
If it’s time for your very own day of TLC and you don’t want pup to miss out, book them into FurBaby Boutique. Located in the northern suburbs of Perth, it combines a pet-friendly cafe, dog treat ‘barkery’, pet store (with designer items), a grooming salon AND a doggy-daycare/play centre! After they’ve been pampered from nose to tail, you can enjoy a snack together inside the alfresco dining area before heading home for some slobbery cuddles.
The Dog Cafe, Boronia VIC
If your pup has its own Insta page and you often find yourself using terms like “goals” and “love that for me” - this is the cafe for you and your (no doubt) spoiled pooch. They do the basics of course - treats and puppuccinos - but what they also do is doggy birthday parties and WEDDINGS. Yep, you read correctly. The Dog Cafe offers a two hour wedding ceremony and every guest gets a doggie-bag for attending. Naw, that’s well and truly #goals.
Little Black Pug Cafe, Mount Gravatt QLD
LBPC was inspired by two, yep, little black pugs - Bowie and Mate. It’s a pet-friendly cafe, serving up healthy meals for humans and pups, who are given their own mat, bowl and menu of treats to choose from. Puppuccinos are on offer, as are sweet potato, liver, beetroot or carrot treats and special doggy ice-cream to dribble over.
Chew Chew Pet Restaurant, Wollstonecraft NSW
Had enough of puppuccinos and liver bickies? Chew Chew, located in North Sydney offers the proper wining and dining experience that every good boy and girl deserves - cooked by a professional pet nutritionist from Japan, too. Meal options vary from grilled fish or lamb sausage and pasta to a full big breakfast. There’s even a three-course meal available in mini, small or large if you really wanna splurge. Chew Chew also provides regular health checks and consultations if Mr. Woofy is feeling under the weather.
