New sketches of the Skoda Vision iV concept's cabin have been previewed ahead of the pure-electric coupe-SUV's unveiling at the Geneva motor show.
Following the release of two design renderings, the latest official sketches show off a swoopy, multi-stepped dash that's dominated by a large freestanding infotainment screen.
Going without a traditional gear selector, the Czech car-maker says the Skoda Vision iV will provide driver and passengers with plenty of storage space and a wireless charging pad that can recharge two mobile phones.
Other design features include a slim instrument panel ahead of a twin-spoke steering wheel, a slight deviation from the 2017 Vision E's cinematic instrument panel that stretched across the dash and provided a separate TV screen for the passenger.
Rumoured to build anticipation for the production vehicle, we already know the Vision iV is an evolution of the original 2017 Vision E concept, differing only with minor design alteration, a new traditional slatted grille grafted on the nose up front and the addition of huge 22-inch rims.
Other changes include a striking LED daytime running strip lighting that cuts through that new grille to link the front headlamps.
At the rear, there's a sporty diffuser, updated pair of C-shaped tail lamps and 'Skoda' lettering that appears to act as a third brake or tail light.
Beneath its stylish body, the latest Skoda SUV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform that has been specifically designed for pure-electric vehicles.
Sharing its electric motors, lithium-ion battery packs and associated control modules, the production Vision iV will be heavily related to the forthcoming Volkswagen I.D. models.
That means it could come with both two- and all-wheel drive and have a range of up to 500km.
Last year Skoda confirmed it would also introduce a more practical standard-bodied SUV.
On sale in 2021, it’s not yet been confirmed which will arrive first.
Following a multi-billion-dollar investment, Skoda has pledged it will introduce more than 10 electrified models into its range before the end of 2022.
