Qoros is claiming its new SUV model will "exhibit world-class standards of engineering, safety and quality" when it debuts at the Guangzhou motor show in southern China next week.
Based on the existing Qoros 3 sedan and hatch, the SUV will make the transition from show car to production, filling out the company's product range with a vehicle offering more appeal in the SUV growth markets of China and Europe.
Qoros, a Chinese brand with its sights set firmly on the European market, will offer the Qoros 3 City SUV with a connectivity platform named 'QorosQloud', to delight all the technophiles in the market.
Other than that, the manufacturer is saying little about the SUV, noting in the press release announcing the show car that it design features include higher ground clearance, larger wheels, roomier interior and a traditional SUV-style driving position. From the rendering issued by the company, the SUV will adopt a fashionably low roofline, like BMW's X6, but from the rear the vehicle also owes a debt to Kia's Peter Schreyer – based on the Sportage resemblance.
The Qoros 3 hatch and sedan models are in production at the company's plant in Changshu, where it's expected the SUV will be built also.
