The Quantum GP700, a road-ready open-wheel sports car being built in Victoria's Macedon Ranges, has proved to be a stunner before it even turns a wheel in the hands of a paying customer.
While its claimed performance is stunning enough, the ask for the GP700 – USD $695,000 – is the number that matters to many.
But now the manufacturer, Quantum Performance Vehicles, has announced that the figure includes a Driver Package to take care of any buyer's wants and needs. Essentially the GP700 can be customised to a level that could be termed 'unique'. No two cars need be exactly the same, with the company acting as a consulting service to ensure the GP700 complies with local environmental and legislative regulations in the client's home country.
Quantum offers to build the GP700 in any colour and scheme the buyer demands, and the car's driving position, suspension and ride height can be tailor-made to suit the client too. According to the company, the suspension can even be specifically calibrated for the added weight of a passenger along for the ride.
Mechanically, the GP700 can be built with differing gear clusters for acceleration or top-end speed, and the engine's fuel delivery system can be tuned for local fuel quality. Quantum offers to swap the gear cluster as part of the after-sales process bundled in with the Driver Package.
Even the traction control system can be calibrated for the driver's preferences.
After-sales service includes driver training from a professional instructor, training for the buyer's preferred maintenance and service facility, online and phone support, three years of track day sessions support – with Quantum engineers travelling to the race track location – and the manufacturer's Remote Tuning App to set up the GP700 for optimal traction control, power levels and gear-change settings.
Finally, Quantum will support buyers with a three-year warranty and parts-replacement scheme.
