French sportscar-maker Alpine has revealed a new raised, off-road, rally-ready version of its A110 called the A110 SportsX.
Paying tribute to the 1973 Monte Carlo-winning original A110, the latest one-off Alpine A110 concept has been designed to have another crack at winning the world's most prestigious rally.
Featuring an 80mm wider body and sitting 60mm taller than the standard coupe, the A110 SportsX gets wider arches, extra vents, redesigned bumpers, underbody armour – a fresh colour scheme and a set of skis for when, presumably, you beach the rugged two-wheel drive racer in the snow.
Based on the sprightly A110, it's not known if the one-off concept gets any more power than the standard car's 1.8-litre turbo four-cylinder than produces 185kW and 320Nm.
No performance figures have been released for the A110 SportsX, but if engineers have turned up the wick to around 220kW the real A110 rally car produces, the high-riding Alpine should easily eclipse the 4.5 seconds it takes for the standard road car to hit 100km/h.
Sadly, if you're in the market for a more rugged, jacked-up version of the A110 prepare to be disappointed as Alpine isn't interested in selling one and the SportsX will remain a one-off.
Pricing for the FIA R-GT homologated Alpine A110 rally car, meanwhile, starts from €150,000 ($A245,000.)
