Recall wrap: More than 4000 Nissan Navara Warrior utes recalled

Standard jack not suitable for harder-core Premcar-developed Warrior utes as Volvo XC90 recalled over seat belt issue

Nissan Navara Warrior

Nissan Australia has launched a nationwide recall for more than 4000 Premcar-developed Nissan Navara Warrior utes over concerns they are fitted with an inadequate vehicle jack.

There are 4337 utes involved in the recall, all built between 2021 and 2023 and covering both the D23-series SL Warrior and the flagship PRO-4X Warrior.

According to the safety notice, the jack provided with the vehicle does not meet the Australian Consumer Product Safety Standard and may fail to lift the front axle high enough to change the Warrior’s larger all-terrain tyres.

Nissan says there is no safety hazard and the defect will not affect the performance of the vehicle.

Owners are being encouraged to contact their local Nissan dealer for rectification of the issue.

Volvo XC90

Elsewhere, Volvo has recalled 115 examples of its flagship Volvo XC90 SUV, covering model years 2015-2023.

All variants are affected by the safety notice, which relates to an (unspecified) seat belt in the second row.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the second-row seat belt buckle and lower anchor screw may become loose. As a result, the seat belt may not operate as intended,” the company said in the recall notice.

“In the event of a collision, if the seat belt does not operate as intended the occupant of that seat may not receive the full protection of the seat belt system and this could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

Volvo Australia will contact affected owners to organise free inspection and repair.
