Subaru has issued a recall for its MY19 Forester over concerns of a potential engine fault.
A total of 4,302 Forester SUVs are affected by what Subaru says is a potentially faulty aluminium positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve which could fracture, leading to a unexpected loss of power and excessive exhaust smoke.
Subaru says it will contact affected owners to arrange a free vehicle inspection.
In other news, those lucky enough to own one of Bentley’s luxurious 2017-plated Continental Supersports have also been impacted by a recall.
The British manufacturer has called back 24 vehicles worth more than $500k – including both coupe and convertible body styles – due to ‘incorrect manufacture’ of the power assisted steering (PSA) cooler hose.
Bentley says the hose could detach from the stub pipe, causing the vehicle to leak hydraulic steering fluid, which could lead to loss of control or even a vehicle fire. The brand will contact affected owners by mail.
French car-maker Peugeot has also issued a recall for its 2018-built 5008 SUV.
The tightening torque of the spare wheel support mountings might not meet specifications on 159 vehicles, which Peugeot says could cause the spare wheel to become loose and fall off, posing an accident or injury risk to road users.
Peugeot will contact owners to organise a free inspection and replacement if required.
