French firm Renault has joined the growing ranks for car companies producing a wagon derivative of its small hatch. Just launched in the right-hand drive UK market the Renault Megane Sport Tourer joins the likes of the Peugeot 308 Touring, Hyundai i30 Sportswagon and Skoda Roomster in the small wagon segment.
The stylish, compact load lugger joins the Coupe and Hatch in the Megane line-up. But while Renault Australia has confirmed both the Megane Coupe and Hatch will arrive in Australia next year there has been no information yet on the Sport Tourer.
Renault Australia was awaiting information from its European parent as we prepared this story for publication.
But while we have to wait for the Sport Tourer the British have the choice of four new powertrain options. Renault UK is offering new 1.4 TCe 130 petrol, 2.0 140 petrol, 2.0 dCi 160 FAP diesel and 2.0 TCe 180 petrol for the first time on the Megane Sport Tourer.
There are four models in the UK range; Expression, Dynamique, Privilege and the TomTom Edition. The entry level Expression model is equipped with CD stereo, air-conditioning, front and rear curtain airbags, ESP, electric windows, chrome roof bars and Renault card with keyless entry.
We'll bring you more details when they come to hand from Renault Australia.
