Renault Koleos arrives priced below $30K

Renault Australia has announced pricing for its new generation of the Koleos SUV, and the price is over $1500 keener for the base-grade model – kicking the range off at $29,990, as we reported earlier this month.

Due to go on sale locally from August 1, every variant in the Koleos range will feature dual-zone climate control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill start assist, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, RLink2 infotainment system and a leather steering wheel as standard. The base-model Koleos Life rides on standard 17-inch alloy wheels.

Additional features in the Koleos Zen include electronic parking brake, electrically-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, infotainment voice control, leather-like upholstery (cloth in the Koleos Life), rear privacy glass and 18-inch alloy wheels. Options offered to buyers at this level comprise a panoramic sunroof and a safety pack (Advanced Emergency Braking, Blind Sport Warning, Forward Collision Warning).

Heading the range, the Koleos Intens features remote engine starting, LED headlights, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Advanced Emergency Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, parking assistance, powered tailgate with hands-free facility, leather upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats, ambient cabin lighting, 12-speaker Bose audio system and panoramic sunroof.

The infotainment system displays through a seven-inch touch screen for the Koleos Life and Zen variants, increasing to an 8.7-inch unit in the Koleos Intens flagship.

Topping out at $43,990, the three-level range comprises the Koleos Life (4x2 only), Koleos Zen (4x2 and 4x4) and the Koleos Intens (4x4 only).

Peak power of 126kW is derived from a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine driving through a continuously variable transmission. Torque plateaus at 226Nm and fuel consumption is 8.1L/100km for the 4x2 models, or 8.3L/100km for the 4x4 Koleos.

Metallic paint is a $600 option.
