Renault Australia has announced the arrival of its cosmetically updated Captur small SUV, now in a range reduced from three to two levels of trim and priced inclusive of on-road costs.
The two grades are the entry-level Zen variant and the flagship Intens model, now aligning the Captur with levels of trim for other Renault models, the Clio, Megane and Koleos. Both five-speed manual and six-speed dual-clutch (EDC) transmission options are available for the Captur Zen, but the Captur Intens is fitted with the EDC unit as standard.
Standard features for the Captur Zen include two-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, auto fold-in mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation with a seven-inch infotainment touch screen. The Captur Intens builds on that specification with 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a fixed glass roof, an Arkamys 3D audio system, enhanced R-LINK satellite navigation, LED headlights, LED front fog lights and front and side parking sensors.
Both levels come with Extended Grip Control – an advanced traction control system – and the Intens also features Easy Park Assist, which can park the vehicle in either parallel or perpendicular spots, with the driver doing nothing more than modulating brake and accelerator.
Cosmetic features that distinguish the flagship from the base model include 'skid plate' styling elements for the bumpers, a chrome grille, chrome boot lid strips and privacy glass. A revised colour selection for the Captur range now consists of Atacama Orange, Cappuccino Brown and Ocean Blue teamed with Diamond Black or Ivory White roof paint.
Renault Australia is introducing the updated model range with drive-away pricing from $23,990 for the manual Captur Zen. The EDC variant is priced at $26,990 and $4000 more will buy the Captur Intens. All prices are inclusive of on-road costs. Warranty and servicing provisions for the Captur are five years of coverage (unlimited kilometres) and one-year/30,000km service intervals. Additionally, Renault is offering fixed-price servicing for $299 a time.
“We have added fantastic new technology and features to a package that has already been a multiple category award winner in Europe,” says Jason Miller, Marketing Director for Renault Australia.
“With our sharp entry-level pricing and outstanding aftersales support, customers in the small SUV segment will quickly appreciate the appeal of the new-look Renault Captur with both their heart and their head.”
