Renault is aiming to increase its market share in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment with the announcement of Australia's most extensive van warranty - five years or 200,000km.
The new warranty indicates the confidence Renault has in its van range, which comprises the Kangoo, Trafic and Master models, and the importer has also added capped-price scheduled servicing for all vans - at just $299 per service per year, covering the first three years of ownership.
Though Renault's presence in the LCV market in Australia is still minor - 11 other manufacturers outsell it - it is steadily growing its market share, increasing sales by 31.3 per cent year-on-year to 528 thus far in 2012.
The new warranty and capped-price servicing plan are expected to attract more commercial buyers to the French brand, particularly as the five-year/200,000km warranty is now industry-leading, outdoing Mitsubishi's five-year/130,000km warranty.
“To continue to raise awareness of our frugal, safe and reliable LCVs in this highly competitive sector, we have decided to offer the longest warranty available in the LCV market, as well as offer Capped Price Scheduled Servicing for three years on all models,” stated Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.
The Renault Oz boss said the industry-leading warranty wouldn't be possible without highly reliable vehicles.
“We have a high degree of confidence in the reliability of our Renault LCVs. We have been number one in LCV sales in Europe for the past 14 years, which proves beyond doubt that our Kangoo, Trafic and Master can get the job done efficiently, safely and reliably.
“Now we’re saying quite loudly that Australian LCV buyers can bank on Renault,” Mr Hocevar said.
“For many small and medium businesses, knowing exactly how much they need to set aside for vehicle running costs is critical. This offer provides definitive and predictable servicing costs along with a five-year/200,000km factory warranty.”
