Great things have already been promised from the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N and now the upcoming Porsche Taycan rival has been imagined ahead of its global debut next year.
Using a combination of recent spy imagery and the stunning RN22e rolling lab and a basis, digital creator NYMammoth has mocked up their impression of what the fastest, most capable and advanced Hyundai N product to date will look like.
Adopting a similar sunken headlight front fascia to the similarly-sized Sonata N-Line, the IONIQ 6 N will be the halo variant of the facelifted IONIQ 6 portfolio just as the mechanically related IONIQ 5 N does within its own ranks.
If N technical adviser Albert Biermann is to be taken at his word, the IONIQ 6 N will output more than 478kW/770Nm and dispatch 0-100km/h in less than 3.4 seconds while furthering the EV driver involvement game beyond the already game-changing standards of its crossover sibling.
“Because now we’ve set a very strong reference point with IONIQ 5 N, whatever we do next as an EV in Hyundai N, of course will be compared to IONIQ 5 N,” he said at the start of the year.
“But just being the same isn’t enough – you have to be better, even if it’s just one or two years later. You have to add more.”
Longer and lower than the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N will be at an immediate dynamic advantage over its sibling even before the next evolution of N’s dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, N e-shift, N Active Sound+, drift optimiser, launch control and differential systems are factored in, not to mention any other next-generation goodies.
The extra performance and tech – and cruising range – will undoubtedly come at extra cost over the already expensive IONIQ 5 N ($111,000), something that’s unlikely to sit well with purists and brand snobs.
The IONIQ 6 portfolio as a whole meantime has come under repeated fire for its divisive exterior design, but that’s clearly being rectified with the release of the facelifted versions, and while we’re disappointed the IONIQ 6 N won’t look like the wide-bodied RN22e, it’s still shaping up as an impressive-looking beastie.
