If like most of the members of the Carsales Network team you've spent countless hours in the garage restoring your favourite ride, you'll probably have a great story to tell, or at least a plethora of photos.
Now, rather than saving those stories for your mates at the pub, a new service from ex-Targa Tasmania racer Dan Rotman gives proud vehicle owners the opportunity to present their story in an innovative and permanent way.
Celebrating Our Story, as it's known, does just that, taking all those pictures from the bottom drawer and compiling them via an online publishing facility into a terrific looking book or as a DVD for you to keep forever.
You can detail a script, or simply regale some memories beside each picture and have a keepsake truly worthy of presentation in the pool room. Best of all it's an easy way of sharing your hard work, sweat and tears with mates and family members.
"All too often, we take lots of photos during the resto or custom build, but they end up at the bottom of the cupboard, never to see the light of day," explained Celebrating Our Story owner, Dan Rotman.
"I was as guilty of that as anybody, until I worked out how great it would be to have a permanent record of my own Targa Tasmania car build up."
Rotman, a former journalist, photographer and racer creates the books or DVDs with genuine attention to detail, and all for a surprisingly affordable price.
"In the context of a rebuild, a book can cost less than a gasket set for a rare machine," joked Rotman. "And there's no constant search on eBay."
The book or DVD can be organic too, easily updated as you make further modifications, re-paint or re-build your machine a second time.
"It's an opportunity to celebrate your hard work," said Rotman.
"I can also see that anyone with a car or bike collection would also have a reason for celebrating their story."
