Targeting a stronger impact at the lower end of the luxury segment, BMW has trimmed pricing for its 2 Series Coupes with minimum reductions of around $2000 across the range.
This means pre on-roads pricing for the base 220i Coupe is now tagged at $48,900, which compares with the previous price of $51,000 as listed in carsales.com.au.
The mid-spec 228i Coupe drops by an even more significant $4500, from $64,400 pre on-roads to $59,900, and the M235i hotshot, previously $79,540, is now tagged at $77,500. The diesel-engined 220d Coupe drops by $2100 to $50,900.
At the same time, equipment levels have been expanded to include a standard rear view camera, BMW ConnectedDrive Real Time Traffic Information, BMW ConnectedDrive Services and Remote Services across the range. The 228i and M235i Coupes also get a DAB+ Digital Radio as standard.
On the other side of the coin, pricing for the Convertible 2 Series has jumped by $1000 for the 220i variant to $55,900 pre on-roads and by $1090 on the M235i that now costs $86,500.
In compensation, the Convertible picks up all the standard-equipment upgrades gifted to the Coupe, including the DAB+ Digital Radio fitted to 228i and M235i models.
The company also offers two pre-paid, transferable BMW Service Inclusive packages – the base version covering scheduled servicing and the “Plus” version that adds selected maintenance items as well.
