Australia’s F1 front-runner and carsales.com.au’s new global ambassador, Daniel Ricciardo is about to hit your screens. In his first on-air role as part of the carsales family, ‘Our Dan’ is at his charismatic best, offering Australian drivers irreverent car advice.
The campaign is entitled ‘Auto Reply’ and is launching in time for this week’s F1 season opener in Melbourne. The series puts Dan’s car knowledge to the test, answering questions such as ‘Why is smoke coming from the bonnet?’ and ‘What size car should I look for?’
carsales announced Ricciardo’s appointment as its first ever global brand ambassador last month.
carsales Chief Marketing Officer, Kellie Cordner, says the campaign brings to life the partnership with Ricciardo.
“The lighthearted series showcases Daniel’s authentic and endearing personality -- characteristics that make him the perfect fit for carsales.
“The connection is evident – Dan knows cars and we know cars. The campaign reinforces our position as the market leading destination for buying and selling cars,” continued Cordner.
The video series will be featured in a multi-channel campaign and supported outdoor, social media, television and activation at the 2017 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
Ricciardo will also be sporting the carsales logo on the chin position of his driving helmet and on both sides of his Red Bull Racing team cap during every race of this year’s F1 season.
