Rolls-Royce gives glimpse of Cullinan cabin

Rolls-Royce has released another tease of its Cullinan SUV ahead of its official reveal in London at 9pm this evening.

The new image, a snapshot of its glimpse of its interior, focuses in on the British car maker's i-Drive-style controller for its new infotainment system.

More interesting is, to the right of the round circular controller, is a button for both the Cullinan's hill descent and another to engage its 'Off-road' mode.

To the left, sandwiched between its parking sensors and rear- and front facing camera control are two buttons that will raise or lower the air suspension to help the Cullinan wade through rivers, tackle rough terrain or simply lower for easier ingress or egress to the towering SUV.

Yesterday, the car maker revealed a shadowy pic of its D-shaped LED tail lamp that appeared to show the large SUV would borrow from the Phantom flagship's boxy design.

The Cullinan will feature an all-aluminium spaceframe chassis similar to the one that’s already in service beneath the recently launched Phantom VIII.

Combined with all-wheel drive, the Cullinan should come equipped with the same twin-turbo 6.75-litre V12 as the flagship all-wheel drive, generating around the same 419kW/900Nm as the Phantom.

Later on, it’s thought the Cullinan will come with a plug-in hybrid and even, potentially, a pure-electric powertrain tailored for markets like China.

The latest tease isn’t the first time we’ve seen glimpses of the Cullinan.

We’ve already seen it testing in July last year and in February 2018, the century-old car maker teased, what it calls, its ‘Viewing Suite’ – a pair of tailgate-mounted seats and table that gracefully folds out to help owners spectate sporting events.
