Auction house Pickles will conduct a luxury-car auction next week, offering something for everyone.
Among the horde of repossessed Audis, BMWs and Mercedes-Benz, there'll be a couple of Ford Mustangs – one a convertible, the other a coupe, both V8s – a three-year old HSV GTS, some Jaguars and Land Rovers, a Porsche Cayenne and various Lexus models.
The highlight of the auction will be the 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom, which has travelled 61,048km and appears to be in fair condition for a 'working' limo. Coming a close second for cachet is the two-year old Mercedes-AMG GT, a car that shows just 10,481km on the odometer.
Those who like their cars 'con brio' will be drawn to the two Maserati models going to auction – one a Granturismo from 2011 and the other a Quattroporte from 2014.
Aussie performance car fans will no doubt be out in force to bid for the Holden Magnum Ute in Spitfire Green. This car has barely 2000km on the clock and could be a bellwether for the future collectability of cars like this – built during the final year of local production at Holden's Elizabeth plant.
If the budget doesn't quite extend to any of these, there's also a pigeon pair of turbo all-wheel drive small cars, in the form of a Subaru WRX and a Volkswagen Golf R, both from 2015.
And the wildcard entry for the evening is the 1981 Porsche 924 – a manual with 3668km on the odometer. BYO gear knob, because the factory original is missing, according to the car's condition report.
Proceedings kick off from 6pm on Monday, November 27 at Pickle's premises,41-45 McIntyre Road, Sunshine North, Victoria. Bidders can also participate through the auctioneer's online bidding facility. For more information, go to the website.
