Rolls-Royce Sweptail sequel on way
Luxury British car-maker developing yet another multi-million-dollar one-off creation that takes a nautical themeNew patents suggest Rolls-Royce is well on the way to creating yet another one-off bespoke Phantom-based creation for a wealthy customer.
These images filed with the Brazilian patent office in March suggest the luxury car-maker is developing a wild two-door coupe based on either its latest Phantom limousine or the smaller Wraith coupe.
Set to follow in the tyre tracks of the stunning 2017 Rolls-Royce Sweptail, the new commission features a fresh face, shrunken grille and pair of ultra-slim headlights -- and it looks like not a single body panel will be shared with any current Rolls-Royce model.
The rakish roofline incorporates a dramatic pair of flying buttresses, leading your eye to a rear-end that features looks inspired by classic wooden-hulled speed boats of the 1950s.
The finished product could even employ real wood in its exterior design.

, the patent images suggest Rolls-Royce could be about to create the world's most luxurious (and expensive) ute if beneath all that wood is a decent load space.
Like the original Sweptail, the new unnamed Rolls-Royce is thought to have cost its wealthy owner upwards of $17.5 million to commission.
For that considerable amount of cash customers get direct access to the car-maker's design boss and its team of engineers and craftsmen and women to create the car of their dreams.
It's not known when we'll next see the car based on the recent patents, but it could be before the end of this year.
