Saab is introducing a new flagship for the 9-3 Convertible range during November. Fitted with Saab's 132kW 1.9-litre TTiD diesel engine or a 206kW version of the turbo V6, the Special Edition model will be priced from $95,000. Both engines can be matched to six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.
Despite its performance potential, the diesel manual variant returns a fuel consumption figure of 5.9L/100km and the diesel automatic records 6.9L/100km in combined-cycle testing.
Other features fitted to the Special Edition models include: 18-inch alloy wheels finished in silver, a sports steering wheel and carbonfibre decorative trim inside.
"Saab has sold more than a quarter of a million convertibles worldwide and this latest edition highlights the fantastic design and performance that Saab convertibles have always represented" says Parveen Batish, Director of GM Premium Brands.
Swedish singing star 'September' (real name: Petra Marklund) will reveal the Special Edition 9-3 Aero Convertible to the public in a world debut at the Melbourne Cup Carnival next week. The car on display is finished in Champagne (pictured), but Saab will also offer the car in Jet Black and Carbon Grey.
