There is now an official change in the leaderboard of this year’s Australasian Safari, with Warren and Michael Denham (Mitsubishi Triton) moving in the auto lead with a margin of four minutes and 21 seconds over Bruce Garland/Harry Suzuki (Isuzu D-MAX).
Tony Quinn and Toni Fever (Mitsubishi Pajero) are in third place, but it’s all academic as the duo is now out of the event with a split fuel tank.
Craig Lowndes and Kees Weel (Holden Colorado) have moved to fifth place, eight minutes behind the leaders.
Leg two of the Australasian Safari has commenced with the first of two marathon days where minimal servicing is allowed on vehicles. If teams choose to service their vehicles, they will be hit with fairly hefty sanctions – up to five hours.
