Mitsubishi has announced further upgrades to its popular Pajero SUV, the model set to include side and curtain airbags across the entire range.
The inclusion of additional airbags joins dual front airbags in an already extensive list of standard safety features. Pajero now offering standard stability control, traction control, engine brake assist control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution and Mitsubishi's body optimised suspension.
Additionally, Mitsubishi offers its acclaimed all-terrain technology with Super Select 4WD II as standard fit across the entire Pajero line-up.
Elsewhere in the range, Pajero GLS receives reverse parking sensors and a cargo blind while the Pajero VRX adds a Rockford Acoustic Design 12 speaker premium audio package, high intensity discharge headlamps with auto levelling, headlamp washers, rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing headlamps and a cargo blind.
Engine choices remain familiar to the current model. Pajero offered with the choice of a 3.2-litre turbodiesel (147kW/441Nm) or 3.8-litre petrol (184kW/329Nm) powerplant.
Citing slow sales, three-door SWB Pajero models have again been omitted from the 2011 range after withdrawal from the line-up this year.
"The Pajero is recognised for its superior performance, both on and off the road, and the range just keeps on getting better and better," said Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited vice president of brand and marketing, Paul Unerkov.
"After a strong year-to-date sales result we expect this upgraded model line up to be even more sought after."
Like every vehicle in the Mitsubishi range, Pajero is protected by the company's comprehensive five year/130,000 whole vehicle warranty, backed up by its 10-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty and a five year/130,000 km roadside assistance package.
The Model Year 2011 Mitsubishi Pajero range is in showrooms now.
