Mazda Australia has closed the order books for several Mazda3, Mazda CX-30 and Mazda BT-50 variants as it grapples with component shortages and subsequent production delays.
The affected models comprised the bulk of the 2.0-litre Mazda3 and CX-30 variants, namely the G20 Pure, Evolve, Touring and Touring SP, while the only impacted BT-50s are the XS and XT single and freestyle cabs.
A Mazda spokesperson said potentially affected customers should contact their preferred Mazda dealer for more information, but confirmed there was at least some residual stock left in dealerships.
“We continue to feel the impacts of global automotive industry supply constraints,” they said.
“During this time we are working to prioritise existing customer orders, and a limited quantity of stock of these variants remains available in dealerships.
“Our dealerships will continue to liaise directly with affected customers to update them on timings and availability of their individual orders.”
None of the dual-cab BT-50 ute line-up or 2.5-litre Mazda3 small car or CX-30 small SUV variants are included in the stop sale, but Mazda is yet to publish exactly which components are in short supply.
Mazda3 prices went up $500 across the board at the start of the month and while a reason for the increases was never confirmed, it was likely a result of the inflated manufacturing and shipping costs being faced by most manufacturers at the moment.
The CX-30 and BT-50 line-ups have remained steady in their pricing since the latest model years were released, save for a $200 range-wide increase back in May.
