Seven racecars you can buy on carsales

Wanting a set of wheels with a story to tell and a racing pedigree like no other? Well a racecar could be for you.

It's one of those bucketlist things to own and drive a race car, imagining yourself as the next Daniel Ricciardo, Peter Brock or Mike Sinclair. At the very least starting your own car collection could be more achievable if you don't have the skills or the bravery to manoeuvre high powered machinery on the road or track. Well, where there's a will, there's a way and surprisingly carsales has a few current and former race cars which may be what you're after.

2007 Custom Race Car Ford NASCAR

racecar ford nascar 01

The fact this all-American stock car resides Down Under makes it fairly unique, but this is no ordinary NASCAR. Australian racing driver Marcos Ambrose drove the #59 STP Ford to NASCAR victory in 2008 before it sat in storage in an old workshop in Charlotte, North Carolina for more than a decade.

It was mechanically rebuilt and then shipped to Australia, before being relocated to Queensland where it has been in storage. The STP Ford NASCAR has not been touched cosmetically since appearing in victory lane and still has all the major bumps and bruises as well as the remaining windscreen tear-off strips that were unused during the race.
