Sexy Lamborghini Aventador successor rendered
Hot looking renders show what the Raging Bull brand’s next-generation flagship speed machine could look likeThe Lamborghini Aventador successor is now just over a month away from its global reveal and it’s clear the hype around the Italian performance car brand’s new flagship hypercar is building, as you can see from these tasty new renders by Russian motoring outlet Kolesa.RU.
Using the recently reported patent renders as a base, the renders showcase a sleeker and more curvaceous body than the current Aventador’s with completely new panels from just about every angle.
Of course the obligatory wedge-shaped silhouette has been retained, but the rest of the body has been thoroughly modernised in what looks to be a successful cross between a Lamborghini Sian, Huracan Technica and McLaren 570S.
The McLaren influence is especially clear from the back, where you’ll find a pair of high-set exhaust outlets, slim tail-lights and surprisingly elegant roof taper.
The usual injection of Lambo aggressiveness comes in the form of a huge, slatted rear diffuser and what’s sure to be a soul-rattling soundtrack from the now-confirmed 6.5-litre V12, which in true Lamborghini fashion will be devoid of any forced induction measures.
Instead, it will be assisted by a high-performance plug-in hybrid system tipped by some to help the Aventador’s successor develop close to 1000 horsepower (746kW), meaning a sub-3.0sec 0-100km/h time and 350km/h-plus top speed are all but guaranteed.
New flagship Lamborghini hypercars have traditionally upped the power stakes over the ultimate version of their predecessors by about 15-20kW, and we expect that will be the case here too – even without factoring in electrification – given the swansong Aventador Ultimae developed 574kW/720Nm, earning it the LP780-4 name (in which 780 refers to the horsepower output).
Add in the electric motor(s) and it’s entirely plausible Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid will nudge the fabled 1000hp barrier, which would make it a rival for the upcoming McLaren P1 successor and eventual Ferrari LaFerrari replacement.
