SHANGHAI MOTOR SHOW: Audi e-tron sedan teased

Audi to unveil another all-new electric model with a high-performance bent

Audi will use the Shanghai motor show in China next week as the stage to present another instalment in its burgeoning all-electric e-tron range.

Just days after revealing the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron, the German car-maker has published a sketch that previews an all-new e-tron sedan that’ll be unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2021 on April 19.

The solitary image includes a giant air inlet that will presumably feed air into the brakes.

Big wheels measuring more than 20 inches, plus large brakes with big 10-piston callipers, are also distinguishable features.

Audi has said nothing about the finer details of the new e-tron model, other than it will be revealed in full in Shanghai.

It is tipped to be around the same size as the current Audi A5, and will ride on the car-maker’s new Premium Platform Electric architecture, jointly developed with Porsche since 2018.

The new e-tron is set to boast 800-volt charging capacity and an EV range of up to 500km. A choice of rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models are set to be offered.

It’s part of a broader electric onslaught from Audi. By 2025 the company plans to introduce more than 20 all-electric models and to further extend its plug-in hybrid portfolio.
