Chinese car-maker South East Motor (SEM) has revealed its new DX7 SUV, which could spearhead the brand’s entry into new western markets.
Following other car-makers like Chery, BAIC and Brilliance, SEM commissioned Italian design studio Pininfarina to shape its first SUV.
So far, details are light on the ground and it’s not known what powers the DX7, but we expect it to follow the trend of its Chinese rivals by being powered by a turbocharged petrol engine, come only with an automatic transmission and be available with both front- and four-wheel drive.
The only technical feature confirmed by SEM is that the DX7 will come equipped with stability control and rollover protection that meets US safety standard -- a big hint that the firm hopes to use the DX7 to break the in the US market.
