SHANGHAI MOTOR SHOW: Volkswagen teases ID. crossover coupe

Volkswagen has teased a single pic of a concept for a third possible derivative based around its ID. pure-electric range of vehicles.

Following on from last year's Paris motor show's ID. hatch and this year's Detroit auto show ID. Buzz, the latest concept has been confirmed as a pure-electric crossover coupe to rival cars like the Mercedes-Benz GLE.

Like both the hatch and Kombi, the SUV will be based on Volkswagen Group's Modularen Elekrisch Baukasten (MEB) scalable electric-car architecture.

Volkswagen is yet to release details but the SUV is likely to come with two electric motors driving each axle and a long-range lithium-ion battery that will provide for a range of around 600km.

More will be revealed leading up to its reveal on April 18.
