Shannons will offer exclusive online auctions for classic cars, memorabilia and heritage number plates while the COVID-19 situation prevents usual showroom auctions.
Bidding is set to open on May 20 for the 2020 Shannons Autumn Timed Online Auction, sale items for which are now available to view online, where you can also see walkaround videos, photographs, lot details, vehicle histories and a price guides.
The auction house says those interested in more specific details of any lot can contact Shannons auction advisors to organise a personal real-time virtual tour or to book a time to physically inspect the item by appointment.
All lots are located in either Shannons’ Sydney or Melbourne showrooms and final bidding will close after two weeks on June 3.
Items up for auction include 47 cars – including 10 Jaguars, six MGs and three “sought-after” Porsches – plus seven motorcycles, 25 memorabilia items and 22 VIC and NSW black and white numerical heritage number plates.
Other vehicles include an unreserved 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster, a 1967 Volkswagen Kombi Camper, a 1924 Buick Master 6 Tourer and a couple of old Holdens.
“We pioneered Classic Vehicle Auctions in Australia nearly 40 years ago and we remain its key player today,” said Shannons National Auction Manager, Christophe Boribon.
“The new Virtual Tour option is a perfect example. If you have a particular interest in any lot, or lots, you can inspect it by Facetime video or another platform in real time, while asking questions of the Shannons Auction Team member you are dealing with.”
