Singer Vehicle Design has revealed a new retromod that draws inspiration from the fearsome Porsche 930 Turbo made from 1975 to 1989.
Shown in computer-generated images ahead of its build, the 2022 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer Turbo Study is actually built on the later 964-series 911 that was made from 1989-1993.
Reclothed in an all-new carbon-fibre body, Singer's take on the original 930 features numerous detail changes including a reprofiled front bumper, wider wheel-arches, tweaked door mirrors, new stone guards, a redesigned rear light bar and a revised version of the Turbo's trademark whale-tail spoiler.
Reflecting its role as a grand tourer rather than track day hero, within the cabin there's an interior finished in Malibu Sand-coloured leather upholstery and Black Forest wood inserts on the dash and centre console.
There's also a pair of heated electric-adjust seats, and both cruise control and air-conditioning are standard.
Ahead of the gear lever is a new infotainment system, while a new steering wheel and wireless phone charger have both been added to bring the 964's interior up-to-date.
Under the bonnet, the original 911's air-cooled 3.6-litre has been enlarged to a 3.8-litre engine, while a pair of turbochargers boosts power of the flat six-cylinder to around 356kW.
More power is available on request.
Other options include the ability to specify four-wheel drive, carbon-ceramic brakes and a louder sports exhaust.
Featuring a bespoke suspension set-up, Singer says it can tweak the dampers if an owner prefers a sportier drive over the standard comfort-biased calibration.
Singer has not revealed how many 911 Turbo retromods it plans to make, nor how much it will cost, but expect a million-dollar price tag.
