Six figures for final 380

Charity is the big winner from the auction of the last Mitsubishi 380 to roll off the Tonsley Park production line

John Hughes, a Mitsubishi dealer from Perth, has acquired the very last 380 sedan for $100,000.

Hughes was facing off Adelaide Mitsubishi dealer Agostino's for the honour of owning the last car to be locally manufactured by Mitsubishi, before he came up with the six-figure bid.

Mitsubishi is yet to announce the beneficiaries of the auction, but will do so sometime within the next week, following consultation with John Hughes.

"There has been tremendous interest in the fate of the last 380, and this is a fitting result for such a fantastic and well built car," said Rob McEniry, CEO and President of Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited.

The final car is a 380 Platinum (limited edition) sedan, finished in silver.
