The Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo nameplate has returned to the Australian market with the MY17 model year update – and offering even more equipment as standard.
Adorned with a "Monte Carlo" stamp on the B-pillar and front door sill plates, the Fabia Monte Carlo's distinctive looks come courtesy of blacked-out side skirts, door mirrors, front grille frame, front spoiler, rear diffuser, 17-inch black alloy wheels and a panoramic glass sunroof.
The sporty feel continues in the Fabia Monte Carlo's interior with a flat bottomed steering wheel featuring red-accented stitching, sports pedals and sports seats.
It isn't all about looks for the Monte Carlo Fabia however; the car also includes sports suspension and a punchy 81kW, 1.2-litre turbo four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. This means the Fabia can cover 0-100km/h in 9.4 seconds, among the quickest in its class.
In addition, all Skoda Fabia models now come with a range of standard safety features including rear view camera, "SmartLink" smartphone connectivity (including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) as well as previously standard driver safety systems such as Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Multi-Collision Brake and Electronic Stability Control.
Also for the first time in Australia, the Fabia Monte Carlo is now offered as a wagon, increasing luggage capacity to 505 litres with rear seats up, or a very impressive 1370 litres with rear seats folded down.
Customers wanting more advanced features from their Fabia can now option the "Tech Pack". Costing $1800, the tech pack offers customers radar-based adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, rear-parking sensors and climate control, making the tech pack a very appealing option.
Prices for the MY17 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo start from $23,490 base RRP for the Monte Carlo hatch, or an additional $1150 for the wagon.
