Skoda has released work-in-progress pictures of a forthcoming concept for a convertible version of its Karoq small SUV.
Created by a of team apprentices, a small Karoq Cabriolet would -- if it reached production -- rival both the Range Rover Evoque Convertible and Volkswagen's forthcoming T-Roc Convertible, which has been confirmed for production in 2020.
However, Skoda has already confirmed the Karoq Cabriolet, which is set to be officially revealed this June, will remain strictly a concept with no plans for production.
Measuring in at the same length and width as the regular Karoq, the drop-top version features modified A- and B-pillars.
Curiously, the Karoq Cabriolet retains all four doors of the regular SUV, although it's not know whether or how the rear doors open.
Designed, engineered and built by budding engineers aged between 17 and 20, this year's project follows on from the two-seat Citigo roadster (2014), the Fabia ute (2015), a concept for a Rapid Spaceback coupe (2016) and last year's Citigo electric buggy.
