Skoda has confirmed its largest electric vehicle (EV) yet, with the Peaq name locked in for the seven-seat SUV set to debut this year, based on the Vision 7S concept previewed back in 2022.

Skoda’s first three-row EV is due to make its global debut in 2026, under the model name ‘Peaq’, to reflect its position at the top of the brand’s portfolio, according to Skoda.
The Czech carmaker is yet to confirm plans to launch the family SUV in Australia but trademarked the Peaq nameplate locally in mid-2025.
Little is known about the new SUV, but we expect it to arrive as the electric alternative to the three-row combustion-engined Kodiaq SUV already sold in Australia, which measures just over 4.7m long and 1.8m wide and will soon gain a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain.

The Peaq is expected to be slightly larger at around five metres long and will be underpinned by the shared modular electric drive matrix (MEB) architecture used across various Volkswagen ID. models, as well as Skoda’s own Elroq and Enyaq EVs.
When the Vision 7S broke cover in 2022, it was fitted with an 89kWh battery pack with a claimed driving range of more than 600km, along with the ability to charge at a rate of up to 200kW.
It also featured a lounge room-style interior, with a steering wheel that could be moved away from the driver to create a roomier area with the vehicle stationary, a rectangle-shaped steering wheel and a large tablet-style 14.6-inch central display.

Currently, Skoda offers three electric vehicles Down Under, including the Elroq compact SUV and the mid-size Enyaq, offered in SUV and Coupe variations.
The Peaq will topple the trio in terms of size and price.
