Skoda releases flagship Yeti

Now petrol-only, the small SUV range is topped by a new 110TSI variant

Skoda has officially announced the Yeti 4x4 Outdoor model powered by the same 110TSI four-cylinder engine available in the Octavia range.

So named for its 110kW output and its turbocharged, direct-injected set-up, the engine develops 250Nm and consumes fuel at the rate of 6.6L/100km. As standard the high-grade model comes with a six-speed DSG (dual-clutch) transmission driving to all four wheels.

Distinguishing the new variant from the front-wheel drive 81TSI models are black bumpers, additional underbody protection, 17-inch 'Erebus' alloy wheels, and silver roof rails.

Additional equipment inside includes climate control, chrome door handles and black door sills. The Navi Pack that's currently offered on the 81TSI Yeti is also fitted to the 110TSI variant, comprising satellite navigation, metallic or pearl effect paint, front parking sensors, privacy glass and front fog lights.

While the new model is priced $5200 higher than the 81TSI with DSG – and another $2300 higher still than the manual model at entry level – the Yeti 110TSI is $600 less than the diesel 103TDI model that has been discontinued.

Pricing is as follows for the new variant, which is already available from Skoda dealers:
Yeti 81TSI 6-speed manual – $25,490
Yeti 81TSI 7-speed DSG – $27,790
Yeti 110TSI 4x4 Outdoor – $32,990
