Skoda has introduced a limited-volume edition of its Octavia, based on the entry-level 90TSI variant.
Priced from $21,990 (including on-road costs), the Octavia Special Edition adds 16-inch alloy wheels and satellite navigation to the entry-level specification. The Special Edition model is also available as a wagon (with driveaway pricing of $23,690). Both cars are fitted with manual transmission for those prices, with a seven-speed DSG transmission also available.
In addition to the alloys and satnav, the Octavia Special Edition also gains a 30gb hard disc for the eight-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, auto-on headlights with follow-me home function, a centre rear-seat armrest with additional storage, rain-sensing wipers and, for the wagon only, silver roof rails.
The run-out model goes on sale with effect from June 1, leaving months for Skoda to clear stocks, with the new model due in the final quarter of this year. Read the latest news and reviews on your mobile, iPhone or PDA at carsales' mobile site...
