Skoda teases Superb interior

Skoda has released official pictures of the interior of its new flagship Superb that, the Czech car-maker says, is worthy of comparison with cars in the class above.

Pitching the Superb’s quality and workmanship against cars like the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8, Skoda says its new car, that normally goes up against the Mazda6, “has brought the qualities of higher-class vehicles into the automotive mid-class.”

As motoring.com.au has already reported the new Superb will also be up to 75kg lighter and about 17mm longer at 4840mm, making it the longest vehicle to ride on Volkswagen's scalable MQB platform (that also underpins cars like the Audi TT).

The increased size will help liberate yet more space for passengers making it among the most spacious in class for cabin room. An even bigger wagon will also be available.

As well as the leap in quality there will be an improved infotainment systems, more efficient engines and the option of adaptive suspension will be part of the upgrade.

Skoda has now confirmed the MkIII Superb will make its world debut in Prague next week, a few weeks before appearing again at the Geneva motor show. It will go on sale in Europe in mid-2015, but won't arrive in Australian showrooms until 2016.
