GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Skoda to launch range-topping Kodiaq L&K
Czech car maker says it will front up to Swiss show for the debut of its most luxurious and expensive SUV yetSkoda has announced it will launch a new flagship version of its Kodiaq SUV at the Geneva motor show next month.
Named after Skoda's founders Laurin and Klement, the posh new 'L&K' version of the Czech SUV comes with a chrome grille, full LED lamps, large 19-inch alloys wheels and a redesigned rear bumper.
Inside, the Kodiaq L&K mixes piano black wood trim with a full leather interior and electric memory seats.
The top-of-the-range Kodiaq also bags a multi-function steering that's wrapped in black or beige leather.
Other standard equipment includes aluminium pedals, Skoda's uprated 'Canton' sound system, 'Kodiaq' embossed kick-plates, ambient lighting and lots of 'Laurin & Klement' logos.
Under the bonnet, in Europe at least, there's the choice of two petrol engines that both come standard with particulate filters – a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo (that we don't get in Australia) and a new more powerful 140kW version of the 2.0-litre TSI turbo. All-wheel drive is optional on both engines.
On the diesel side there's the choice of a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with either 110kW or 140kW - the latter coming standard with four-wheel drive.
It's not known if Skoda Australia plans to import the range-topping leather-line Kodiaq - nor when it will land here.
