Porsche has teased a sketch of its all-new third-generation Cayenne that implies the large SUV will be far sleeker than the car it replaces.
Featuring a sharper rounder front, rakish lines and even 911-style rear tail lamps, the next Cayenne looks like it's shaping up to be the sportiest SUV money can buy, if the drawing is an accurate depiction of the real car.
Set for an official debut on August 29, the first image of the Porsche's al-new SUV follows on from a recent short video tease that showed Cayenne mules undergoing arduous durability testing around the globe.
It's thought that video tease might have given us a more realistic picture of how the next Cayenne will look.
Unlike the sketch, that suggests a far more slippery look akin to a jacked-up Panamera Sport Turismo, the prototypes shown in the testing video reveals the next-gen Cayenne won't stray too far from the current model.
Codenamed the 'E3’, Porsche has already confirmed its next Cayenne will share its new MLB platform with the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga and forthcoming Volkswagen Touareg.
Set to share those cars' petrol and diesel V6 and V8s, the Cayenne will also come with a plug-in powertrain.
Later on, some suggest Porsche might even offer buyers a pure-electric version of the Cayenne that could do battle with the Tesla Model X.
On sale in 2018, it's not been confirmed when the Cayenne will land in Australia.
Expect more teases ahead of its official unveil.
