Aljoša Tushek plans to build just 30 of his Renovatio T500 supercars over the next three years. Even a number as small as that might be hard to sell though, when each one is priced at 300,000 Euros.
But that's the price one pays for a car that has been seven years in the making, built around a motor-sport competition-inspired spaceframe and powered by an Audi 4.2-litre V8 rated at 450hp. The T500's top speed of 310km/h places it in the same league with the products of other, better known, marques. Also, since the carbon-fibre construction of the car keeps weight down to 1090kg, the T500 will crack 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds – up there with all but the very fastest cars money can buy.
Tushek is a former race driver in his homeland of Slovenia, one of the former republics of Yugoslavia. He gave away competing actively in the Group N category in a Citroen Xsara to focus on building cars wearing his own name. The T500 has already received positive reviews from UK mag Autocar and the BBC's Top Gear, and there's reportedly a T700 model on the way.
