Smarter 2025 Hyundai Palisade surfaces 

The next-generation 2025 Hyundai Palisade has been unwrapped in Korea ahead of the large family SUV's debut in Australia next year.

The new exterior and interior images of the new second instalment of the Hyundai Palisade were posted by the car-maker in Korea and reveal the three-row SUV's more mature and classier styling.

Picking up where the all-new squared-off Hyundai Santa Fe left off, the Palisade looks closer to a Range Rover in looks than ever before, getting an upright grille and five-element horizontal LED lighting, making the big Hyundai far more imposing than the car it replaces.

Other changes include what looks like a stretched wheelbase and shorter front overhang.

Large 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, prominent roof rails and a sizeable rear overhang all differentiate the Palisade further from the car it replaces, while the latter help it accommodate up to nine seats.

The final nod to the Range Rover is the Palisade's blacked-out A- and D-pillars and floating roof effect, plus a pair of rear lamps that appear lifted from the last-gen luxury British SUV.

Within, there's a pair of 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and digital instrument cluster that live behind a single-piece curved glass screen. Running Hyundai's latest software, the new Palisade will feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Look closely and you might also spot the new multi-function steering wheel from the Santa Fe. Other useful features include a centre console that packages both storage beneath it and a wireless phone charger up top, plus a 100-watt USB-C charging port and two large cupholders.

Reflecting its more generous proportions, the new Palisade will deliver more space in the second and third rows. Despite the existence of the nine-seat version in Korea, Australia should expect the three-row family SUV to have either seven or eight seats.

Full details are yet to be confirmed for the Australian market but in Korea the turbo-diesel has been dumped, with the Palisade offered with a 206kW 3.5-litre V6, a 213kW 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder, and a flagship 2.5-litre turbo hybrid Palisade that produces 246kW yet is said to average around 7.0L/100km.

There are no official timings for when exactly the 2025 Hyundai Palisade will arrive next year, but it's thought Hyundai Australia will release fresh details in the coming months.
