Saab is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its convertible with a limited-edition model.
The 9-3 Convertible has been dressed-up for the occasion with a new Anniversary colour called metallic Electric Blue (or customers can order 'Jet Black'), 17-inch alloy wheels and body-coloured roof-tonneau cover and door handles.
The 20th Anniversary model also gets Saab park assist and six-disc in-dash CD player. Heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, automatic roof with remote opening and cruise control are also standard. Safety equipment includes Electronic Stability Program, driver and passenger front and side airbags, Saab 'Active Head Restraints' and 'DynaCage' pop-up roll bars.
The 9-3's turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, rated at 110kW/240Nm, is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and according to Saab uses 9.7lt/100km for a combined cycle.
Vision of Bob Sinclair, then-president of Saab-Scania in the USA, the first Saab 900 was offered for sale in 1986. Saab says more than 250,000 have been sold around the world since, including over 10,000 in Australia.
The 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Saab 9-3 Convertible retails at $68,400.
