Hyundai Australia has announced the addition of two new option packs/model variants for its Getz small car range. Both the SXi and the Protectz packs will be offered on Getz 1.6s, the former only on the three-door variant.
The SXi ('sexy' in sms text) features five-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels with lower profile (55-series) tyres. Also featured is a roof spoiler with integrated brake light, circular front fog lights and special badging.
Inside, red-highlighted twill fabric is featured on the seats and a brushed alloy-look panel bedecks the centre dash fascia and door pull trim top inserts. Chrome accents and twin map lights are provided.
Available in both manual and automatic variants, the Getz SXi is available in three colours only: Ebony Black, Hip Hop Red and Midnight Grey.
The Getz SXi manual kicks off at $16,490 (manual, non-metallic paint).
Getz Protectz pack is available on all Getz 1.6s, including the SXi.
The pack adds ESP (Electronic Stability Program), TCS (Traction Control System) and front seat side thorax airbags for $1290. ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) is already standard equipment on 1.6-litre Getz.
“Hyundai’s policy is to offer affordable safety—specifying potentially life-saving and crash injury-minimizing features in its cars as soon as technical development brings their pricing down to affordable levels,” said Ben Hershman, product planning manager for Hyundai Motor Company Australia.
