Special Renault Megane to commemorate F1 success
Hot special edition RenaultSport Megane RB8 Limited Edition celebrates Red Bull's F1 prowess.RenaultSport has unleashed 120 examples of a special edition Megane RS 265, dubbed the RB8 Limited Edition, in honour of Red Bull's F1 race car of the same name.
All 120 examples of the Megane RB8 Limited Edition will be finished in a hue Renault calls "Dusk Blue" complimented by platinum style highlights and "Red Bull" decals that run across the car's lower portions and the rear of the car. The overall effect is intended to pay homage to the conquering F1 racers and the RB8 Limited Edition is not a "standard" Megane RS 265. The car rides on 19 inch gloss black "Steev" wheel offset by a bespoke aluminium edging.
The F1 tributes are not restricted to the car's exterior, however. Inside, the black leather Recaro seats are embroidered with Red Bull's logo and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and centre armrest complement the red seatbelts and dashboard insert. Carbon fibre fittings found throughout the cabin are further reminders of the car's F1 relative. Unique floor mats and numbered aluminium doorsills complete the interior makeover.
The Megane RB8 Limited Edition builds on the Megane RS 265's already very accomplished package, with a 195kW (265hp) 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine, Brembo brake callipers, limited slip differential and, in a first for a Megane RS 265 based car, start-stop technology.
"We are delighted to celebrate the fourth consecutive Formula 1 World Championship victory for Sebastian Vettel and the Red Bull Racing Team with the release of this latest Red Bull Limited Edition Mégane RS 265," says Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.
The Red Bull Limited Edition Mégane RS 265 is available from Renault dealers now, from $49,990 plus on roads.
