Peugeot Australia has confirmed the arrival of a slew of new models in 2010, including the Audi TT-inspired RCZ.
Peugeot Automobiles Australia's General Manager Ken Thomas confirmed the car's local arrival in July 2010, after it goes into production in Europe in April.
Power will come from familiar sources, either a 1.6-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder or a 2.0-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder. All models will be front-wheel drive via six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearboxes.
Mr Thomas was in Paris recently to drive the car and said the 4.29 metre long vehicle was slightly wider than the Audi TT.
The production RCZ will debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September and according to Mr Thomas design "stays faithful to the [308 RCZ] concept".
Mr Thomas also let slip that official images should appear this week from Peugeot's Parisian offices.
Though no price point has been mooted for the Australian market, Peugeot believes it can sell around 400 of the vehicles per year.
The new 2+2 RCZ coupe will give Peugeot another sporty model on top of the just-launched 308 CC with which to develop its Le Mans winning image.
